I was firmly convinced that awful and incredible as was the thing I had seen the night before, yet it was no illusion, no glamour of bewildered sense, and in the course of the evening I went again to the doctor’s house. But your eyes had been staring at that very curious sunset we had tonight.

I can see why Borges like it – it stands on its own as something completely unique. He is best known for his influential supernatural, fantasy, and horror fiction.
