Apr 19, Karel Baloun rated it really liked it. Christophfr summary of pranayama, kundalini, chakras and a subset of yoga for modern westerners. Under short pages, every paragraph contains dense value. If I had to choose a minute daily routine, this would not be a bad one, and might be better than other common vinyasana combinations like the christophsr salutation. His routine hrs of yoga per day and other attributes of healthy living are likely larger factors. I know very little about kundalini or mindfulness meditation, and I found these practical introductions useful.

First I felt this book could change lives. If I were in prison or trapped in a monastery, with no access to kilam wisdom or stimulation, then this book would be a very useful guide to how I could productively grow and occupy my time.

Aug 30, Zaubin Z rated it it was ok. This book was OK. I mean, there are only five exercises. It seems like making a big deal about fairly little. Some of the exercises seem useful, in terms of getting the body in shape.

kiilham Having done these exercises consistently for years before having read this bookI have yet to find the purpose to two of them, which have no apparent physical benefit at all. Of course, the point is that they benefit you on a “spiritual” level. But in exactly what way is never said.

It is all very vague. I would This book was OK.

The Five Tibetans: Five Dynamic Exercises for Health, Energy, and Personal Power

I would like to know- what does each exercise do? Why are the movements in such a way? Are they dealing with chakras, or something else? If chakras, which chakras? Are different movements for specific chakras? The only claim that I can figure is that they give you longevity. Which is, of course, nearly impossible to prove. The other claim is that you will feel better in general again with the vagueness.

But this is true of nearly any regular exercise. I haven’t noticed any obvious results from doing them. But, if you are interested in these “rites”, this book is a very good description of them. Sep 10, Rachel rated it it was amazing. This is more of a manual than a book; the simple correct execution of the Five Tibetans or five key exercises to help restore the balance between one’s energy centers or Chakras.

While the author does explain the method well, he also goes into great depth about what Chakras really are, and even more basically, what the energy system is that exists within all of us and how we can come to understand and use that system to our own benefit.

The Five Tibetans are a fantastic, fast daily practice that This is more of a manual than a book; the simple correct execution of the Five Tibetans or five key exercises to help restore the balance between one’s energy centers or Chakras. The Five Tibetans are a fantastic, fast daily practice that is the perfect introduction to the art and science of yoga and energy movement.

I found them to be very challenging at first, so I’m looking forward to getting stronger physically and energetically as I progress. Equally as important as the actual exercises, this book covers the essentials of proper breathing and meditation, both vital additions to any spiritual, energetic practice.

Sep 08, Kimz Zahour rated it liked it Shelves: If you are looking for more in-depth study of the Tibetans this is not it. The information is very limited. In fact, there was nothing I didn’t already know.

It is written by an experienced Yogi but the information about the yogic principles and techniques is very concise so I didn’t get much out of that either. I’m skeptical about his claims of being blissed out on kundalini for up to six weeks at a time. He was coming into his practice in the 70s right? Powerful detailed enough to follow exercises and meditations to experience life changing effects. I’d recommend this if you want to go down the path to enlightenment with a simple guide that anyone can follow.

A good, concise guide to the Five Tibetans and meditation. Dec 25, Nancy Chiok rated it really liked it. It is a short book with clear explanation on the 5 Tibetans poses. The author also taught us through the other meditation methods briefly which I have not come across in others. I wish he spends more time explaining these methods fully.
